Are you having big expectations? Throw them out - you're at a learning stage, the most important thing is FUN. Think about what part of it is/was most fun to you, and what it is that makes it feel like a chore for you. With time, you'll have to look up less and less until you're comfortable with using FL Studio and with producing music. In the beginning you'll have to look up a lot of stuff, but that's perfectly fine - necessary even. (Of course only for educational purposes - don't say that it's your own song!) For example you don't need to worry about mixing when you haven't really figured out the easier stuff first.Ī tip for another time when you're more comfortable, try and copy a song! I'm not sure if it's appropriate for beginners, but it's a very good way to analyze a song/genre.Īctually, you could even copy a song from a tutorial on YouTube where they show how they make a song or how to make a certain genre. Watch tutorials on YouTube, and take it easy. So just have fun with it! Experiment with stuff and don't worry about where you're gonna go with it. I was simply curious and it turned out to be fun. I didn't even know where to go with it all, I simply made music and that was it. I started out with lo-fi hip hop, so that was a really easy beginning lol. When I started out, I just made stuff without really worrying about how it sounds compared to good songs.
